Five slots, 50 to 350 kW

The X90-5S is built around hot-swappable power modules in a five-slot frame, scaling from 50 kW up to 350 kW (5 × 70 kW) — or up to 250 kW with 50 kW modules. Capacity grows by adding modules as load requirements change, with N+1 redundancy configured within installed slot capacity. Full front access means no rear clearance is required for installation or service, and runtime is provided by external X90-BC modular battery cabinets (or compatible third-party battery systems) for flexible, scalable runtime.

X90-BC batteries & the SMB-350 bypass

Runtime lives in the X90-BC — a matching external battery cabinet that holds up to 36 hot-swappable battery modules behind a front battery disconnect, with a second cabinet extending capacity to 72 modules. Because the batteries are external and modular, the X90-BC supports a range of chemistries — VRLA (lead-acid), lithium-ion, nickel-zinc, and sodium-ion — so runtime, cycle life, footprint, and temperature range can be matched to the site rather than fixed by the UPS.

For service and repair without dropping the load, the X90-5S also pairs with the optional SMB-350 — a slim, matching maintenance-bypass cabinet just 11.8 inches wide. Rated to 65 kAIC, it provides a manual maintenance bypass (Q1 main, Q2 maintenance bypass, Q3 output) in the most compact footprint, enabling safe full-system service with the load powered.

The X90-5S uses external X90-BC modular battery cabinets for flexible, scalable runtime. One X90-BC supports up to 36 battery modules; a second X90-BC extends capacity to 72 modules. The modular architecture supports redundancy and serviceability through hot-swappable power and battery modules, allowing maintenance without system downtime.

Runtimes in minutes; vary with battery age and site conditions. Columns 16–36 use a single X90-BC cabinet; the shaded columns (40–72) require a second X90-BC.
