Repair or replace your UPS without power interruption by manually transferring critical loads from UPS power to utility power using the XBDM.
Repair or replace your UPS without power interruption. The Xtreme Power XBDM manually transfers critical loads from UPS power to utility power, enabling UPS service or replacement without downtime — then transfers back to protected power just as easily.

The XBDM is a maintenance bypass module that lets you manually transfer critical loads from UPS power to utility power using a bypass switch, enabling UPS repair or replacement without power interruption to the load. Transferring back to protected UPS power is just as easy — simply return the bypass switch to the UPS position.
Available in 120V models — 15A, 20A, and 30A — plus a 208/230V 20A model, the XBDM combines bypass functionality with power distribution in a single enclosure, adding up to ten output receptacles. Loads stay surge protected even when the UPS is in bypass mode, and the UPS electronics are protected during normal operation.

Transfer loads from UPS to utility power for uninterrupted operation while the UPS is serviced.
Manual bypass switch provides seamless transfer within 4–8 ms.
Adds up to 10 output receptacles, combining bypass and distribution in one enclosure.
Connected equipment stays protected in both UPS and bypass modes.
Both UPS and utility power connect to the XBDM using the supplied cords.
LED indicators confirm availability of UPS and utility sources before transfer.
Supports horizontal 1U rack or vertical rack installation.
Enables hot-swappable UPS maintenance without disrupting power to loads.
A simple front-panel switch moves each load group between two power paths — bypass straight to utility power, or full protection through the UPS.
Utility power bypasses the UPS system and is supplied to the load directly.
Power is routed through the UPS system to the connected load.
For use with up to 1500 VA, 120V UPS.
For 2000 VA, 120V UPS.
For 3000 VA, 120V UPS.
For 208/230V installations, up to 3000 VA, 208/230V UPS.

Ideal for IT, AV, and industrial environments that require continuous uptime through UPS maintenance and replacement.
Maintain power to switches, servers, and storage while the UPS is serviced.
Pair with lithium backup for compact network or AV deployments (not for switched-outlet models).
An ideal companion for lithium UPS models with extended battery life.
Maintain uninterrupted power for broadcast, media control, and video-wall systems.
Service or replace UPS units without halting production lines.
Service or replace the UPS without dropping the load by transferring to utility power with the bypass switch.
Detailed specifications, performance data, and installation guidance for the XBDM.
It is a maintenance bypass module. A front-panel switch manually transfers the connected load from UPS power to utility power, so the UPS can be serviced or replaced without dropping the load, then transfers back the same way. Transfer takes 4 to 8 ms.
By cord and current. The XBDM-1015LV suits 120V UPS up to 1500 VA, the 1020LV suits 2000 VA, the 1030LV suits 3000 VA with an L5-30P cord, and the 1020HV suits 208/230V systems up to 3000 VA with IEC C20 connections. For the P91 5 to 10 kVA, alternate versions are available.
Yes. Surge protection is active in both UPS mode and bypass mode, rated 6500 A maximum spike current, 330 VAC maximum clamping voltage, and 114 J energy dissipation on the 120V models or 220 J on the XBDM-1020HV.
Not with UPS models that have switched output receptacles. Those switch power at the outlet, which conflicts with how the bypass path works. Everything else in the single-phase range pairs normally.
Yes, the XBDM HW series, for installations where cord connections are not used. See the hardwired XBDM page.
19-inch rack mounting hardware and the user manual, plus power cords on the 120V models. On the XBDM-1020HV the IEC C20 cord kit is sold separately.
The XBDM ensures uninterrupted power to your critical loads while your UPS is serviced or replaced — ideal for IT, AV, and industrial applications.
