UPSMON SNMP for Windows
Users' Guide

This application aims to monitor the UPS via the SNMPCard at the Windows. Basically it will help you to shutdown the OS when the power failure occurs. And it further displays the condition of the UPS, UPS events, commits UPS Battery test ...etc.
1. Hardware Installation :
i. Inser the SNMP-Card into UPS slot
ii. Turn ON the UPS
iii. Boot the Windows
2. Java Installation:
i. Please log in as the administrator
ii. Double click the icon "jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe"
iii. Install the Java step by step
iv. By ways of the "Cmd.exe 命令提示字元", you can tell the Java have installed or not
v. It is successful once your java command have below printscreen
3. Java Mail Configuration:
i. Copy the file "mail.jar into your Java folder
ex : C:\ Program Files \ Java \ Jre6 \ lib \ ext \
4. UPSMON
Installation:
i. Please log in as the administrator
ii. Execute the Setup.exe (Step by step)
iii. And then you will have below 2 window messages
iv. And then kindly input the information for below configuration :
* Please insert the SNMPCard IP address :
1. Seconds of OS shutdown delay time (default : 200 ) :
2. Minutes of UPS shutdown delay time (default : 2 ) :
3. Would you like to reset these items ( N or y ) :
==> UPSMON : UPSMON Start
==> UPSMON : Start Monitor
v. Once you got above 2 messages "UPSMON : Start Monitor", it means you have a successful connection.
vi. Check out the Display to see the connection is okay or not : Start ==> Program Files ==> UPSMON SNMP ==> UPSMON SNMP
vii. Then this application will automatically be started (Even though you have not login to the Windows)
5. UPSMON UnInstall:
i. Firstly please log in as the administrator
ii
iv. Reboot the Windows.
v. Enter the Control Panel to remove the application "UPSMON SNMP for Windows"
vi. Delete the directory "UPSMON SNMP for Windows"
ex : > 開始 ==> 程式集 ==> UPSMON SNMP ==> UPSMON SNMP

Battery Level : Display the percentage of the battery capacity. |

Load Level : Display battery load level for the UPS outlets. |

Input and Output Voltage : Display input voltage to the UPS and output voltage from the UPS. |

Input Frequency : Display input frequency to the UPS. |

Temperature : Display the temperature of the UPS. |

Normal : UPS is working correctly and power is normal. |

UPS Battery test : Indicates the UPS is in self-test mode. |

Battery damaged : The battery needs to be replaced. |

UPS damaged : UPS need to be serviced or repaired. |

Power overload : Indicate the UPS is experiencing a power overload. |

: Red indicate the battery has less than 36% charge. |
i. Select Configuration from the menu-Function for the power failure occur
When the power failure occurs :
ii. "Power Failure OS Shutdown Delay" (1) : after running out this period of time, the UPSMON starts to execute the shutdown shell "DOWN" (120 seconds default). Oppositely the UPSMON keeps monitoring the UPS if the power is restored in this duration.
iii. "Low Battery OS Shutdown Delay" (1) : when the battery capacity is relative low, the OS Shutdown delay time would auto switch to this one (20 seconds default)
iv. "UPS Shutdown Delay" (2) : this duration is afford to shutdown the PC (2 minutes default)
The total time span from power failure to PC shutdown and turn UPS off depends on how many devices are connected to the UPS and the battery load level. For example, you could have 10 minutes of potential time available with a low battery load, or you could have approximately 2 to 5 minutes of potential time available with a higher load.
ii. All the UPS events are recorded and saved into the directory "JLog" and certain Month.log
iii. Clear : clean out this month log
iv. Refresh : reload the current events
iii. Type messages you want to receive when this certain UPS events occur
iv. Click OK
i Enter the necessary filed : SMTP Server, Sender and Receiver's EMail address. If your SMTP needs authentication, necessarily you have valid the check box and type your Account and Password
ii. Type messages you want tor receive when the certain UPS event occurs
ii. Click OK
To change your BIOS setting :
i. Restart your PC
ii. When the PC brand logo screen appears, press the correct key on your keyboard to open the BIOS setup window. For general PCs, press the delete key
iii. Use your arrow keys on the keyboard to select the correct power option
iv. Select the correct setting to enable PC power always on. For general PCs, use arrow key to enable "Restore on AC Power Loss"
v. Save your changes
